This is our DIY cold frame, used to harden off the plants we’ve grown indoors and currently providing a bit of extra warmth to our range of chillis. Cold frames are expensive to buy and easy to make. So we went for the latter option.
The wood was salvaged from an old futon and the plastic began life as the wrapping around an IKEA mattress (there’s a seed bed joke to be had somewhere). The plastic was fixed to the frame with felt tacks.
We’ve got some futon wood and plastic left over so expect more garden contraptions to follow…
