The Veg Plot

Rose-fitted receptacles

Watering cans have an unnerving ability to disappear from our allotment. Are they blowing away in the wind? Are light-fingered can thieves preying upon our slack tidying regime? Or have they been consumed by the nettle avalanche that is surging forth from the rear of our plot? *

I’d still be watering my feeble pumpkins with a carrier bag full of holes** this evening had it not been for Stadium Products, who have kindly sent us three Rhino Easi watering cans to trial (and lose).

The arrival of this aquifying trio was preceded by a day of downpours – as if Zeus himself was nervous at the competition he would be facing come the evening watering session. And he should be rightly concerned…
These sleek cans are deceptively capacious – holding 10 litres of water – and come in three colours to suit your taste, mood or indeed match your wellies, should you be so style conscious.

And what we really like is that that the watering rose is designed to snap over the fill point when the can is not in use. This prevents pesky snails crawling inside, rattling around and clogging the spout in-between cabbage chomping sessions.

To be in with a chance of winning one of these fancy cans, nip over to twitter, make sure you are following @thirstygardener and @StadiumProducts and retweet our Rhino watering can competition tweet.

All names successfully completing the criteria above will go into into our ‘bucket of plenty’, and the winner picked out randomly.
